What is pu leather?
The difference between PU leather and genuine leather is that PU leather is a synthetic synthetic imitation leather material, but it is not what we often refer to as artificial leather. PU leather does not achieve softness by applying plasticizers on the surface of artificial leather, as it has its own soft characteristics. Therefore, when it is soaked in gasoline for more than half an hour, it is still soft and does not become hard or brittle like artificial leather due to the application of plasticizers on the surface.
A more high-end PU leather is coated with PU resin on the surface of two layers of cowhide, which is loved by consumers due to its unique process and novel varieties. The back of PU leather is made of knitted fabric, which can be identified with the naked eye and can also be burned. The flammability of PU leather determines that it will melt when burned.
PU leather has extremely excellent wear resistance, excellent breathability, aging resistance, softness and comfort, and strong flexibility. Its appearance is most similar to genuine leather, and its product is superior to natural leather in terms of thickness uniformity, tear strength, color brightness, and leather surface utilization.
The difference between pu leather and genuine leather
The difference between PU leather and genuine leather:
- The leather surface is shiny and smooth. The appearance is flat and smooth, with a rich and delicate texture. Touch the solid and elastic texture with your hands. Smooth leather has good tensile strength, dirt resistance, wear resistance, and good breathability.
- Synthetic leather (PVC) and Synthetic leather (PU) are made of textile or non-woven fabric substrates. The appearance and feel can resemble genuine leather, and they are coated with polyurethane and treated with special foam. However, their breathability, wear resistance, and cold resistance are not as good as genuine leather.
- PU is polyurethane. Polyurethane leather has excellent properties. In foreign countries, due to the influence of animal protection associations and the development of technology, the performance and application of polyurethane synthetic leather have surpassed that of natural leather. After adding ultrafine fibers, the toughness, breathability, and wear resistance of polyurethane have been further strengthened. Such a finished product undoubtedly has excellent performance.
- The best regenerated leather, with skin patterns very similar to genuine leather, feels as soft as genuine leather, and it is difficult for outsiders to distinguish between genuine leather and regenerated leather. Superfiber leather is a newly developed high-end leather among synthetic leather, belonging to a new type of leather material. Due to its advantages such as wear resistance, cold resistance, breathability, aging resistance, soft texture, environmental protection, and beautiful appearance, it has become the most ideal choice to replace natural leather. Natural dermis is composed of many collagen fibers of varying thickness, woven into two layers: a granular layer and a reticular layer. The granular layer is woven from extremely fine collagen fibers, while the reticular layer is woven from thicker collagen fibers.
